When the Going gets Tough, the Tough gets Going..... :)

Let me tell you this, we are almost hitting the end of 2011, and we are still super busy, in fact busier than ever. Gosh, I need a long break.. J And nope, not just for Kit Kats!

In the home of the Eagles, we have just finished our tours in Sing 7s, Cobra 10s, and will soon get ready for the hottest 7s, Darwin in January. And like how Nellie sings it.. it’s really getting “hot” in here!

Heat aside, let’s gets down to some serious blogging business. How was Sing 7s & Cobra 10s, you asked? Well, although we didn’t take the crown in both tournaments, the eagles did us proud in Singapore, as it was our “best” performance to date in the land of the lions, battling it all out with our long time pals, the Dave boys in the Cup Finals :). All’s fair in love and war, it was a good yet a tough match indeed. With high spirits, our Eagles continued their journey to another international tour, the weekend after, but had to give in to some undeniable injuries received from the “lion’s field”. And although, they struggled to the semis, they gave it all, and they gave it good. To us, in the Home of the Eagles, they definitely soared in more ways than ever. We are proud of you guys!

And what’s happening at the Home front? We have just selected our best under 14 boys (under the Junior Development programme) to a one month rugby course in New Zealand, the land of Rugby, and as I speak, are hoping everything will run smoothly for the whole team. Special thanks to Chad , for assisting us, and not forgetting, our good old pal PJ, who helped us in so many ways! Thank you guys! My hats off to you! :)

So, what’s ahead, you may ask? Apart from Christmas holidays, long school holidays and the winter break, we have just unofficially announced the dates of our Borneo Sevens (Club International) for next year, and is also planning for year 2012’s activities, tours, programmes & etc. We will soon send out invitations for the Borneo Sevens (Club) and will announce the ARFU Borneo Sevens at a later date. If you ask me, there’s more work ahead, but its all for the love of the game.

Before I sign off, here’s to wish all our members, our eagles (where ever you are), friends, fans, supporters, and the list goes on and on, to all of you, wonderful people, a beautiful, merry Christmas and a blessed new year!

This is me, yours truly, signing off, for year 2011!!!!!!!!

Roger out.
