It was a crazy weekend to begin with, a month prior, there
were teams cancellations as the ground crew were battling with the hot weather,
literally we were like giving daily CPR to our poor grounds! That was
what it was like, when we welcomed this year’s Borneo 7s 2016.
I had this thought, wow.. It would be quite a weekend, with
the weather forecast and the media talking about the possibility of hitting 40 plus
under the sun. It was really super hot, it was dry and the sky was clear. My
only concern was how our friends from the fairer weathered countries would
cope.
But you know what they say, the show has to GO
ON. And in the end, the boys really gave it all. Rain or shine, from
the first kick off till the last try, everything went well… and
thank God, with little casualties J
We ended this year's Borneo 7s 2016 with
continued and stronger friendships between and among our rugby friends, and we
would like to thank all the teams who stood with us, even though it was quite a
challenge to get to where we are, flights wise, especially during school break!
Our friends who supported us, year in and year out, all the working crew,
sponsors who believed in us, and the rugby fans!
Kudos to all the players who
were STARS in their own class, this was your SHOW, and regardless who took the
final crown, you guys were GREAT!
It really has been the Hottest on the grounds of the Greenest, we look forward to welcome you guys again in the 2017 edition of the Borneo 7s.
